What to Wear to a Wedding: Splurge vs. Steal
The sun has graced Vancouver with it's presence and it's finally starting to feel like summer is on it's way and with it, wedding season!
This year I'm excited to be celebrating at four weddings - one each month, starting in June. I have dresses that I love in my wardrobe already, and would have no problem dressing for any wedding theme but, with four on my calendar, I'm taking this as an opportunity to refresh my closet ;)
I love a good shopping spree, and don't mind spending a little extra on well made items that I know will stay in my wardrobe for years to come but I also love finding a good dupe for a high-end piece. With that in mind, I went on an online browsing mission to find dupes for some of my current favourites.
Below I've highlighted my picks for a casual wedding, a garden party theme and a formal or semi-formal evening.
1. Self Portrait Azaelea Dress, ($713) - More colours here 2. Club Monaco Nanhah Lace Dress, ($298) 3. Kate Spade Sullivan Strappy Sandal, ($467) 4. Zara Golden Strappy Sandals, ($49.90) 5. Coach Floral Appliqué Bag, ($848) 6. ALDO Kalerwen Bag, ($35)
I tend to spend a little more on items like shoes and bags that I know will wear well and last a long time, and typically tend to go with the 'steal' option for dresses whenever I can.
What are your go-to's when shopping for a special occasion? What items do you splurge on and where do you save? I'd love to hear your suggestions here or you can find me on Twitter at @Lyndsay_Land :)
